At BumbleBee, we’re always eager to support non-profits and educational institutions by delivering great marketing programs and events. Giving back is not merely an annual event for us: We feel strongly about using our skills and expertise for pro bono projects year round.
I’m especially thrilled to be involved in 100 Years of Delivering the News, a centennial celebration of Cal Poly’s student media. We’re creating logos, planning events and creating buzz for this once-in-a-lifetime occasion. It will held in San Luis Obispo on October 14 & 15, 2016, and will be packed with events, from the Jim Hayes Symposium to the Spotlight Gala, where they will induct the first class of honorees into the Student Media and Journalism Hall of Fame.
The Spotlight Gala features guest speaker Ben Bradlee Jr., who will present Journalism @ 100: Why it Matters Today More than Ever. Bradlee is a former Boston Globe deputy managing editor who edited the paper’s 2003 Pulitzer Prize-winning series on sexual abuse in the church. The investigation was the basis for the movie “Spotlight,” this year’s winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture.
