Marketing events are an effective way for companies to connect face-to-face with customers and partners, but when a marketing event includes a unique opportunity to give back, it’s really something special.
Such was the case at Avnet + Cisco Connect 2015, themed Enjoy the Good Life. Avnet, a leading global technology distributor, and Cisco, a worldwide leader in networking, host the annual event to show their partners how to grow their businesses through the Internet of Everything.

Giving the Good Life to Girls Around the World: An Auction to Benefit Girl Rising
Here’s what makes the annual event really special. For the past few years, BumbleBee has helped Avnet host an auction during the event—this year’s theme was Enjoy the Good Life—and the proceeds go to a charitable organization.
The beneficiary this year was Girl Rising, a global campaign for girl’s education. It highlighted some fun and attention-getting items: “his and hers” Apple watches, a movie screening party featuring the Girl Rising documentary film, a high tech drone, a trip to see the Formula 1 US Grand Prix and tickets to the PGA Championship. It was a fun and productive way to raise awareness and money.
